On Reading Controversial Novels: 5 Questions You Should Ask

1.       Does this novel have explicit content?
If yes – think of your morals.
If no – try it if you think it’ll be worth it.
2.       Does the novel agree with your morals?
If it doesn’t, then it probably isn’t a good idea to read it.
3.       Do people talk about this novel in a good or bad way?
If most of the reviews are negative, then it probably will not be worth your time. However, you are welcome to read it and get your own opinion on it.
4.       Is it interesting?
If it is...it might be worth your time.
5.       What kind of books does the author write?

Look at the author’s background. Are their novels appropriate age-wise? Think about it before you begin reading.
